Allergy: what is it, why does it occur and how did I get rid of it completely?
Allergy is an exaggerated immunologic response to different substances in the environment, called allergens. These allergens attach themselves to the surface of special cells in the body, called mast cells, causing them to degranulate - i.e. release numerous chemicals: histamine, prostaglandins, leukotrienes, heparin, etc.
These substances activate certain receptors on the surface of the cells, which trigger allergic symptoms. The best-known symptoms - sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, itching - are mainly produced by histamine. But other substances released from mast cells can also cause symptoms:
- mucus hypersecretion,
- unexplained fatigue,
- dry cough,
- lower blood pressure,
- sleepy,
- headaches,
- muscle pain etc.
Why do antihistamines stop working over time?
Most traditional allergy treatments focus exclusively on blocking histamine receptors - hence the name antihistamines. However, these drugs do not act on the other substances involved and, more importantly, do not alter the underlying immune mechanism. Over time, their effectiveness decreases. You may have noticed: at first the allergy passes quickly, but then the effect is delayed or incomplete.
This happens because the body adapts, and chronic inflammation continues in the background.
There are other drugs that act on different parts of the allergic reaction, but they do not treat the underlying cause: the disproportionate immune reaction.
What I did (and how to explain the complete disappearance of allergies)
I do not present this protocol as a "universal cure", but simply share my personal experience, in the hope that it will be useful to those who are confronted with allergies resistant to classical treatments.
Background:
I had very frequent, intense and prolonged allergic attacks - mostly ragweed, but not only ragweed. The reactions occurred almost monthly, whatever the season. Today is August 2, 2025 - full ragweed season - and I don't have the slightest symptom, a situation that has existed since the summer of 2024.
What we did concretely:
- Maslin leaf extract: 70 ml per day. In children, the dose is 1.5 ml/kg body weight

Vitamin D3 + K2 + magnesium bisglycinate: 10.000 IU of vit D3 per day (2 capsules per day). In children, half.
- Regular monitoring of the vitamin D level in the blood, i.e. every 6-8 months do a vitamin D blood test: if it approaches 100 ng/ml, stop and when it approaches 60 ng/ml, resume.
Why does it work?
Maslin leaf extract
It's a natural anti-inflammatory, rich in oleuropein, with antiviral, antibacterial and - most importantly in my case - natural antihistamine effects. This substance helps calm mast cells and reduces the hyperreactivity of the immune system. This last effect seems to me to be the most valuable in the case of allergies: it reduces the exaggerated intensity of the immune response.
Vitamin D3 + K2
Vitamin D deficiency is one of the hidden causes of chronic allergies. Vitamin D3 regulates the activity of T lymphocytes and brings balance between the response of the two types of lymphocytes, Th1 and Th2 - a key mechanism in allergic reactions.
Vitamin K2 supports this process and prevents calcium deposition on the vascular walls. It is mandatory to combine vitamin K2 with D3, because vitamin K2 directs calcium to the bones and prevents its accumulation in tissues and blood vessels.
Magnesium
It is the mineral of calm. Not only for the nervous system, but also for the immune system. Magnesium reduces systemic inflammation, helps detoxify histamine and stabilizes cellular reactions involved in allergies. In addition, it activates vitamin D (which is absorbed in inactive form) and increases the sensitivity of cell receptors for vitamin D.
If this protocol does not completely eliminate the allergic episodes, you can add AHCC, Seolit Spectrum and a probiotic. Why?
AHCC, a fermented extract from the mycelium of the mushroom Lentinula edodes (shiitake), rich in alpha-glucans, with immunomodulatory effects:
- It regulates the immune response by balancing the activity of Th1 and Th2 lymphocytes (exactly where the imbalance occurs in allergies, where Th2 is over-activated).
- It may reduce the hyperreactivity of mast cells, the cells that release histamine and other inflammatory substances in allergies.
- It has anti-inflammatory effect, reducing the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-alpha.
The dose is 2 capsules a day (AHCC Vitals) or 3 capsules a day (AHCC Mycelcaps).
Zeolite Spectrum is a selective detoxifier and a natural mineral with honeycomb structure, able to adsorb (i.e. to fix on its surface) heavy metals, ammonia, mycotoxins, free radicals, histamine etc. so that:
- It binds and removes excess histamine from the gut (where some allergic reactions are perpetuated or aggravated).
- It can reduce the load of toxins, heavy metals and other factors that irritate the immune system and maintain a state of exaggerated alertness.
- It protects the gut and reduces intestinal permeability, which is often linked to food allergies and chronic sensitivities.
The dose is 6 capsules a day. Start with 1 capsule on the first day and increase by one capsule every 1-2 days until you reach 6. You should drink 2 liters of fluids a day. There should be a 2-hour break between medication and zeolite.
Aronia Biotic, because in many allergies there is an imbalance in the intestinal bacterial flora.
Conclusion
I'm not saying this protocol will work for everyone - nothing works the same for everyone. But in my case it has been transformational. If you are dealing with chronic allergies and are looking for a gentle, deep and natural approach, this may be a direction.
You need to understand that allergies are not just a nose or eye problem - they are a signal that your body is overreacting. Sometimes all it needs is to give it what it's missing: minerals, vitamins, smart herbs and time to repair itself.
